Meta Open-Sources Muse AI for Custom Gadget Development
Meta has open-sourced the code for its new AI agent, Muse, allowing individuals to construct their own customized gadgets, as reported by The Verge. This initiative aims to integrate Muse into a diverse array of devices, with TechCrunch indicating Meta's interest in seeing Muse in everyday items such as televisions and toasters. Both The Verge and TechCrunch confirm that Meta is providing this code freely.
According to The Verge, Meta now actively supports users in creating their personal Muse gadgets. The company has outlined several project concepts for these self-built devices. These suggestions include deploying Muse on a color E Ink display to show reminders, incorporating it into an HDMI stick to present Muse on a larger screen, or utilizing it with a small touchscreen device to create a product resembling a do-it-yourself Muse Charm.
The Verge further details Meta's characterization of Muse gadgets as open-source devices built by the user. Meta specifies that developers can program readily available ESP32 boards or configure Raspberry Pi units using the provided Software Development Kits (SDKs). These boards can then be interfaced with various hardware components, such as displays, buttons, sensors, and actuators, offering a flexible platform for custom creations.
